Pool Attendant/Life Guard is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall guest experience at the swimming pool area. The role involves assisting guests, maintaining pool facilities, ensuring hygiene standards, and providing friendly and professional service in line with hotel hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist guests using the swimming pool facilities.
• Provide pool towels, amenities, and assistance with guest requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area, sunbeds, umbrellas, and surrounding facilities.
• Ensure poolside furniture and equipment are properly arranged and maintained.
• Monitor guest safety and follow pool safety procedures at all times.
• Assist guests with pool rules, facilities, and safety guidelines.
• Report any accidents, hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance issues immediately.
• Maintain proper hygiene and cleanliness standards around the pool area.
• Monitor pool water conditions and report any concerns to the relevant department.
• Ensure adequate availability of towels, refreshments, and guest supplies.
• Support guest requests and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Assist with special events or activities conducted around the pool area.
• Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Previous experience as a Pool Attendant, Recreation Attendant, Lifeguard Assistant, or similar role is preferred.
• Experience in a hotel, resort, or leisure facility will be an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of pool safety procedures and guest service standards.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with local and international guests.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors for extended periods.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to assist guests.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic English communication skills; Sinhala/Tamil language skills will be an advantage.

Preferred Skills

• Lifeguard certification or first aid training will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of swimming pool hygiene and safety standards.
• Experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or private clubs.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and presentation.
